The kids recently decided they wanted to hold a bake sale for Hurricane Sandy Relief and being that we needed to throw this all together very last minute, we needed a recipe that was going to be quick and easy. After looking online for inspiration, we invented these little cuties that are fun to make and very tasty!
Chocolate Filled Nilla Wafers
1 bag chocolate chips (whatever type your kids prefer, we used milk chocolate)
3 tablespoons butter
1 box Nilla wafers
Melt the chocolate and butter together on a double boiler (or microwave, but we don’t own one!) on low heat and stir until smooth. Using a butter knife, spread about a teaspoon of the chocolate on a Nilla wafer then put another one on top to create a sandwich. Squeeze gently to allow the chocolate to come to the edges. Roll the exposed chocolate in sprinkles. Lay on cookie sheet to cool and set chocolate.4
